This looked like it had been a bestseller so I thought I d try it Although it was easy enough to read and had no bad grammar or typos the style is very flat and reads like stage directions than a novel The author does telling than showing if you know what that means None of the characters are likeable or sympathetic so the only suspense is to find out who done it and again I didn t care much beyond mild curiosity Also there seemed to be a loose plot thread at the end that was never explained A key piece of evidence just seems to go away and the police ignore an obvious witnesssuspect There is also a final twist that the author must have thought would be shocking but it seems like she had no other idea for how to end the story If you want a uick read without deep emotional depth or artistic style you might like it
